Sinead and I were obviously a little disappointed not to make the Grand Prix Final but we are extremely proud of our 2 Grand Prix Bronze Medals. Unless I'm mistaken this is the 14th year of the Grand Prix series and it is the first time that anyone from Great Britain has medalled at a Grand Prix event. Hopefully we can do a little better and make the final next season. Trophee Eric Bompard Would you believe that this was my first trip to Paris? I can definitely say that I was not disappointed by my first visit to this the 'city of light'. The competition itself went really well but, again, we were a little disappointed that we were unable to score just a few points more and get that 2nd spot. What was encouraging though was the fact that we were scoring almost identically to Massimo and Federica on the PCS (program component scores) who were scoring significantly more than us in this area last season. The compulsory, to some extent, let us down again so I can only promise that we are endeavoring to make this area of our skating stronger. It's not always as easy as people think it is. It was really nice as well to meet so many skating fans at this event including those from a Russian Skating Forum entirely devoted to us! ;-) They even convinced me to write more diary entries so this one is for you guys. I'm still not totally convinced what I write is any good but it's nice that at least a few folks out there enjoy it. Skate America I though it a little unfair to write nothing about our experience from Skate America so here were my impressions. Great crowd, great arena, great organization, great hotel, great volunteers, and a great competition. They should have Skate America in Washington state every year because it far exceeded what we had experienced at our previous two Skate America competitions. That's all for now folks.
