Н@стёнка: новая запись в дневнике сайта! Hey guys, I thought a wee update on our website was in order as the competition season fast approaches. Preparations for our first International of the season have been going really well and we are really eager to get our season up and running at the Finlandia Trophy (in Finland strangely enough!). This will be the first time that Sinead and I will have competed in Finland and its always fun to compete somewhere for the first time. I think sometimes people think we probably get a little jaded from all the traveling but it's something that we have both always enjoyed. So, do we have any Finnish fans out there by any chance?!? Don't all stand up at once please... 2008 Stars, Stripes, and Skates Before that we will be performing at the Stars, Stripes and Skates show in Danbury, Connecticut, this Sunday. It's always nice to perform at charity events and give something back to the country that allows us to be a guest in their country for so much of the year. We are actually not sure if we will be performing our Original or Free Dance as it is often dependent on what fits best within the context of the show, ie if everyone is doing a slow routine then we are more likely to do something a little more upbeat. If it is indeed the Free Dance that we perform then this Saturday will be its first big public showing - minus the costumes. Unfortunately since they are not actually finished yet..... Blades Magazine It was pretty cool to wander into a Barnes & Noble bookstore and see yourself on the front cover of a magazine. Okay, I know that 'Blades on Ice' magazine is not exactly Vogue but we're pretty chuffed all the same. I should probably take a moment to clarify some of the comments I made about Belbin/Agosto and Domnina/Shabalin sharing the same coach. When I said that 'I didn't see how it could work' I meant that, in the end, there could only be one winner and since both couples want to win then there would have to be a loser in the situation. I did not mean that both teams could not improve under Linichuk/Karpanasov since I'm sure they undoubtably will. Now, since I've clarified that you can all go out and buy the magazine and make it the best selling issue on record! Maia Usova Sinead and I have been really lucky to have Maia Usova working with us alongside Evgeny this summer. We believe it's the best situation to have a male/female coaching team behind you as they can pretty much cover everything from a male and a female perspective. She is a great addition to the team and we have both really enjoyed working with her. Unfortunately that's all I've got right now but stay tuned as we usually write more often once we get into the season, as we usually have more to write, or complain, about... Kisses, Sinead and John
Ксюха: Настя, спасибо за новости. Прочитала сама, без переводчика. Ай да я! Пишет про то, что успешно готовятся к новому сезону, что будут соревноваться в Финляндии, что снялись для журнала. Что-то я не поняла там про Домнину- Шабалина и Белбин-Агосто. В принципе, мы уже все знаем: и про журнал, и про Финляндию! В конце Джон пишет, что им очень комфортно работать с Майей Усовой, которая влилась в тренерскую комнду Евгения. Дансер нам об этом писал.
