Наталия: Skate Canada names Toller Cranston as its Official Artist OTTAWA, ON: Olympic bronze medalist, and five-time Canadian champion Toller Cranston has been named the Official Artist of Skate Canada. The two-year partnership is a first for both the organization and the artist. “Toller has been a role model in many ways, first as an exceptional skater, and then as an incomparable artist,” said Benoît Lavoie, Skate Canada President. “He pushed the boundaries and expanded people’s perceptions of the skating world while he was competing. Toller is also an inspiration to other athletes to pursue their love of creative pursuits at the same time as they are following their dream to skate. We are pleased to keep him involved in the sport as our official artist.” Bronze medalist at the 1976 Olympic Winter Games in Innsbruck, Austria, Cranston was a five-time Canadian men’s champion, from 1972-1976, and also won a bronze medal at the 1974 world championships in Munich. Although Cranston now lives and works in Mexico, he does stay abreast of the current skating world. “My skating career is but a frozen memory,” said Cranston from his home in San Miguel de Allende. “I observe with shock and awe the new virtuosity that today's skaters possess. Patrick Chan renders me speechless.” As the Official Artist of Skate Canada, Cranston created a signature poster for the 2013 ISU World Figure Skating Championships® in London, Ontario, March 11-17, where he will have a featured exhibition. His artwork can be viewed online and will be available at the world championships in London. Наталия: эти фотки натырила на странице Толлера в фейс буке.как я поняла там за него работает его друг молодой художникиз Сан-мигеля Андре Оста((он говорит у Толлера совсем нет времени),но Толлер безумно рад,что его помнит такое большое количество людей!
