GP: Oxi пишет: А пресс-конференцию Жубера не видела. "Right after the result, I was very disappointed, and I am still disappointed, because Jeffrey did the perfect competition -- he did no mistakes. But he didn't try a quad jump," said the 23-year-old. "But the new judging system is like that. It is better to do simple and clean than to try something difficult, and that's why I was disappointed. It's just for the figure skating. We need to give more points for the quad jump in the future." ("He didn't try a quad jump and I was disappointed about it because the new judging system is like that Ѓ\ it's better to do simple and clean than to try something difficult," Joubert said during the skaters' news conference. "We saw Stephane [Swiss skater Stephane Lambiel] try two quads, Daisuke also. "That's why I was disappointed. We need to give more points for the quad jump in the future.") Asked if he felt he had anything to apologize for, the Canadian gave an impassioned . . . uh, re-Buttle. "No, I mean he's entitled to his opinion," he said. "Maybe what drove him to the sport was the physical aspect, the athletic side of the sport, so I certainly don't discredit his opinion. I just have mine -- and today, I guess the judges agreed with me. "I started skating because I watched Kurt Browning and Brian Orser and it was about the program, that's what makes the most memorable skates: it was the programs, not the elements they did. So I think that's what I'm most passionate about when I skate. I went out there and I left everything on the ice, and I'm proud of myself for that. "I mean, it's testimony to the fact that I work very hard on everything, everything that is involved in figure skating, and not just the jumps. We work whole sessions on spins and stroking and all the in-betweens. Because that is figure skating. Figure skating is everything that happens in those four minutes and 40 seconds, not just jumps. I definitely feel I earned the title." http://www.canada.com/theprovince/news/story.html?id=215619d1-3a9d-4dff-9246-073d3f305535&k=8542 http://www.cbc.ca/sports/figureskating/story/2008/03/22/worlds-buttle.html http://web.icenetwork.com/news/article.jsp?ymd=20080322&content_id=46444&vkey=ice_news и другие источкики. Oxi: Фотосессия - отпад! Вот так Джеффри! Спасибо, GP!

GP: The Hour Skating is part of our culture. Obviously, a lot of kids play hockey, but others go down another road, Figure Skating. And some get pretty damn good at it. Brian Orser, Kurt Browning, Elvis Stojko, and now, Canada has a new golden boy, Jeff Buttle. It was at 2006 Olympics that Jeff first rose to prominence He surprised many when he came from behind to grab a bronze medal. But after the games, he was sidelined by a stress fracture of his spine. Then last December, Jeff fell at the nationals, and there was talk, he should be off the team. But Jeff's a fighter. And at this year's world championships, he had the skate of his life. Now, Jeff's looking forward to Vancouver 2010, and another gold medal. http://www.cbc.ca/mrl3/30569/thehour/videos/20080403_buttle.wmv
